• ECC Ram is for Servers. All it is is error checking done in RAM. You will want none ECC for your purposes.

• The vast majority of memory used by desktops, notebooks, and mobile devices is unbuffered non-ECC (Error Checking and Correction) DRAM. In fact, unless you plan running certain specific Intel or AMD CPUs and boards that can support ECC memory, unbuffered non-ECC DRAM is the only choice for most users. So, easy answer, you are good to go.
