Questionlid gasket is not a consistent ovalmy new crock pot lid gasket is not smooth all the way around. There are buckles in it. I used crock pot last night and there was no steam leakage, but I am concerned it will not keep its seal.

- Answer I've only had my crock-pot for a short while, so can't vouch for the longevity of the seal. But I expect it should last. At least to keep food from leaking out during transport; it's not to be locked down when cooking. If it becomes a problem during the warranty period, perhaps a return for replacement would be in order.

QuestionCan this double as a rice cooker as well? So i don't have to buy that separately

- Answer Yes, as long as you put enough water into the pot and let it stew for about 4 hours. A rice cooker is much faster

- Answer It would probably need to be a smaller chicken (some these days look like a small turkey!). Or if you cut it up, it would probably fit.

- Answer The outer pot is stainless steel while the inner removable crock is glazed stoneware.I see NO place that there could be lead unless its contained in the heating element WITHIN the outer pot itself.If it is,it is NOT in contact w/the food at ANY time during its use.I hope this has helped you make a decision as to whether or not you want to buy this.

- Answer YES - it will automatically go to a WARM setting after the 6 or 8 hour cook session!
