This is more probably about the enclosure. Apple specific colors probably sell in lower volumes, and Apple users are typically more particular about esthetic than Android / Windows users (to the point where they will pay extra at least)... Crucial probably orders black in bulk, bit not Starlight. I noticed the Space Gray version is lower than the Starlight model, but more expensive than black... technically I don't think there's any difference aside from formatting, and if your Mac is within the last 4 years it's probably faster than this drive enclosure can deliver. A relatively current Mac - M silicon for sure, are all USB4 and this drive can't deliver those speeds with a 3.2 interface.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Craig, Thank you for your question, our own RAM and Flash memory, our prices are dictated by the spot market. This pricing can typically be influenced by market behavior and responses to economic factors, largely supply and demand. As such, our pricing is subject to daily review and whilst it may not change every day, frequent price fluctuations can be seen. Due to this, I'm afraid we are unable to price-match other suppliers or resellers of our products, who may buy in bulk with corresponding discounts, at times when prices are competitive and whose pricing structure operates differently from our. You can format the drive in Exfat file system. Exfat file system is compatible most of Operating system windows Mac OS. Regards Crucial
