A:AnswerThe 5th button on the front labeled 1-4 is your carafes temperature, Number One being lowest, four being highest. You may have selected the “Bold”feature which is the second button. Turn that off & Try using paper filters if you use the gold filter that came with the machine.

A:AnswerI’ve used paper and gold-toned reusable for over 20 years. The gold toned filter will last a lifetime if you simple rinse clean it after every use. When you forget to clean it, over years, you will get coffee plugged holes and an ugly less gold-toned filter.
