Hi There...I recently bought the waffle grates and notice the same... It is because how much contact the top grates have with the waffles ...I tried different recipes, the best ones are the ones that have yeast because it makes your waffle to raise more so more contact with the top grates, it that way both sides will be crispy, you will also need to press a little bit .... It is different than those waffle makers that you can flip , those will have a more even cooking I think. .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same problem even when I close the griddler for flat sandwich. The top of the sandwich doesn’t get hotter than the from the bottom plate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't have the waffle plates ( that will be my next order) but I've definitely noticed that the main heat element cooks a little hotter than the other. Make sure the trays are pushed in all the way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Once it was perfect Another time was a little lighter on the top plates I assumed it was from possibly a little less batter or I was moving too slow and the bottom plates had the batter a little extra longer
