QuestionI have Arris TG1682G Router/Modem from Comcast/Xfinity. I work fully remote off a laptop. What's the BEST UPS compatible for my router that will give me the MOST battery time. I only plan on plugging in this router to it. More hours the better! Thanks!

- Answer The more powerful the UPS the longer it will power your modem/router. I'd suggest several hours for a 500 VA UPS up to 20 hours or more for a 1500 VA UPS.

- Answer IMO I think you'd be better off buying a 12 volt DC sump pump to run off a 12 volt battery. The efficiency of that set up should be a lot higher that converting UPS 12 volts to 120 AC to run an AC 120 V pump.

QuestionWe get a lot of surges which cause our modem to reboot if we plug the modem/router into this will this stop the router from rebooting from a blip?

- Answer Living in Florida the brown outs and short loss of power (less than 2 secs) is a real pain and for low power equipment like modem/routers or TV's any UPS from 300VA to 600VA is more than adequate and will last longer than a desktop PC on a 1500 VA UPS. Any outage above 30 minutes really needs a gas/propane generator-inverter for many hours of use. I suggest only use an generator-inverter to get clean sine wave power that stays at 60 HZ. Without the inverter part, a cheaper generator is fine for lights and loads that aren't fussy about the 'quality' of the sine wave.

QuestionI have 1500VA AVR. If power goes out & UPS takes over, will the UPS automatically allow the power to revert back to coming through the electric company power again or will the UPS drain its power completely and then anything plugged into it stops working?

- Answer Once power is restored and stable, the unit will revert to on-line power and begin to rechange its' internal battery. It will drain its' internal battery pretty quickly if external power does not return fairly quickly (3 to 10 minutes or so, depending on your load draw).

- Answer Hello Keitho, While the unit is working on line power, the unit is fairly quiet. The fan in the unit will turn on when using battery power and there are audible alarms when there is a power issue, which can be silenced unless the unit is overloaded. Thank you for submitting your question!

- Answer There are no DC connections for this and in any respect, the charging circuit for the internal batteries are probably designed just for that load and not large external batteries. Personally, I wouldn't even consider messing with it for safety reasons.

QuestionCyberPower Tech Support said "The batteries within the unit are not marked, dated, or serialized" when I asked how do I tell when the battery was manufactured or if it has hours on it?? Is this correct? How can you not tell when the battery was made?

- Answer You can't. Batteries like this rarely have dates on them. Assuming they are decent quality they should last 2-4 years but there is no guarantee of that outside the warranty they supply.

- Answer It is standard U. S. household voltage (110/115/120 volts AC whichever one you prefer to call it). Both inlet and outlet. It also has 5v DC USB outlets.

- Answer If you have a local battery store, like Batteries Plus, these are readily available and they will build you a new battery out of two smaller batteries. It’s a good way to save money versus buying an entirely new unit
