The answer is (sorry about this): YES and NO. The unit does have a removable 12 sealed lead acid battery (the company won't tell you the model number)...However, the bottom of the case is secured by a small, special "TORX-XZN" tamper-proof screw, which can only be removed with a special tool. Tech support told me that they (Cyberpower Company) can replace the battery if it fails, or gets too old to work anymore...NOT you, the end user. Thank you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a sealed box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most batteries can be removed (ex: for recycling) and most major cities have specialty stores that will sell you a replacement battery. However, I generally get 3 to 4 years out of a battery, and would rather buy a new unit---*with a warranty*---than to spend my time and travel expense securing a new battery and installing it into a unit that has already seen several years' wear from power surges, spikes, brown-outs, black-outs and such.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The previous version of this unit, you had to replace the whole unit. This unit appears that the battery can be replaced once it dies.
