In this age, every one relies on internet and usb for their digital entertainment needs. In case you choose to use CD-ROM. You can use as an external usb, but that defeats the purpose of being portable. I'd suggest copy CD in the laptop and then watch as 1TB can hold 100s of movies and 1000nds of songs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would suggest that you buy a laptop with a DVD drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had no problems with my external drive, at least after it figured out what it was. the computer has 3 usb ports and 1 hdmi port. 2 are right next to each other, perfect for the external. Honestly I don't use the tablet feature to much, and the keyboard doesn't detach, so neither will your usb ports (obviously) :) the new Adele cd downloaded in, eh, 10 minutes or so. Not too bad. Happy shopping.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can't play CDs on this laptop, because there isn't an optical drive. It does have 3 USB ports, including the faster data transfer USB 3.0 type. If you still have a functional laptop with a CD/DVD drive, copy your CDs to USB drives and then you can use them with this laptop. It has a terabyte (1,000 GB) of hard drive space, so you could load them onto it from the USB drive copies, and just keep them on it for whenever you want to play music or watch movies.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have no problem not having a built in drive. If I need to access a cd or DVD I just attach a portable drive via a usb.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased an external CD drive (LG) as I had some programs which required a CD drive to load. the program(s) have loaded properly without issue. I also tried playing movies via the CD drive and that DID NOT work well. I would also prefer an internal CD drive on the device, however it would impact the weight. the weight of this device is great - makes it very mobile.
