“My laptop does not have a CD-ROM drive and I recently bought a computer game that requires download from a disc, will this product be able to download the game onto my laptop? Or is this only for burning DVD’s and cds?”

This CD-Rom drive works as a CD drive, AND as one that will burn CDs/DVDs. This would have no problem installing something on your computer from a disc.
