I haven’t tried, but according to the service manual here - https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/g-series-15-5511-laptop/dell-g15-5511-service-manual/installing-the-solid-state-drive-in-ssd-slot-one?guid=guid-610211bb-8595-416b-aae6-d3f07277aae7&lang=en-us Both slots should support either m.2 2230 or 2280 SSDs
