what is the switch button on top of the camera? null

This is so that if your camera is on by mistake no one can see you. I always have mine switched in case you never know if someone can hack your computer better safe than sorry.

The switch is the Privacy shutter and you can slide the privacy shutter to cover the camera lens and protect your privacy when the camera is not in use.
