The Dell Inspiron 3020 comes with a GPU (graphics processing unit) that is good enough to run Windows 11 and some games I downloaded through Steam. I added another GPU on a card. I picked the ASUS Phoenix GEFORCE GTX 1650 with 4GB of RAM. It improved the graphics a lot. My screen resolution in Windows is higher and my games look nicer. The card was easy to install. The PC upgraded my BIOS automatically, downloaded drivers for the GPU, and worked perfectly. It was plug-and-play. When you buy a separate GPU like this, the problem is space in the cabinet. My GPU is small compared to others, with only one fan. Even so, you can see the fan is right up against the power supply. The case for this PC doesn't have very big vents, so I am worried it will get hot inside. This GPU is supposed to run pretty cool, so maybe it will work okay. I read that this GPU work work with most games on low to medium resolution, which is good enough for me. If you want a more powerful GPU, then you probably want a gaming PC with a bigger cabinet and better air flow.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The discrete graphics processing unit (GPU) on this desktop can be upgraded. This desktop supports the following discrete graphics processing unit (GPU): NVIDIA RTX 3050( 8 GB, GDDR6), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 TI(6 GB, GDDR5), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER(6 GB , GDDR6).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you cannot! This unit only comes with a 180w power supply which isn't nearly enough to power any modern Nvidia or AMD card! Additionally, it doesn't have the 8 pin connector required to power the video card. A friend of mine just bought this from Best Buy, then went out and bought an RTX after it wouldn't play the games he wanted to play, only to find the power supply won't support the card he bought. Don't be fooled. Although Dell sells this model with an RTX 3050 on their website, you cannot just add an aftermarket card to this model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is possible but you have to pick up a larger compatible power supply. I picked up a 500w psu for mine - D500EPS-01 TPX56. You'll be limited to the 8(6+2)pins and however much wattage your new gpu needs to run efficiently. I'm on a budget so I picked up an a750 and it's running 4k without issue.
