You can connect an external optical drive to this computer in order to read CDs/DVDs/Blu-rays, etc. There is only one USB port and most external optical drives that come without their own power supply rely on at least two USB ports - one for data and one power. You'll need to get one with an external power supply or get a USB hub to turn the one port into many.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I have plugged a USB DVD/CD Reader-Writer into the USB port and, it works well. It's a powerful laptop and, it can play older games. It will also play many newer games at lower screen rates. I changed my default screen resolution to 1080 (HD) instead of 4K to save battery. It works very well. If I am editing photos or video I can switch the resolution back to 4K temporarily. I can also confirm that this device supports Virtual Reality headsets with no problem. I have not tried Steam with my VR headset but, it should work.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the LG external Blueray player. Although the player cable has two USB-A for laptops it will work with just one connected through the USB port. I do recommend getting the USB-C to USB-A adapter so you can have another access port for an external mouse, memory stick or card reader using a USB-A port.
