I wish to inform you of my research on this.
Yes, you are correct. This Inspiron model does not in fact show up on the document listing showing supported models.
That said for future reference, as well as to customers of this wonderful laptop,...
1. I have purchased the WD19TB dock as opposed to the universal dock you mentioned that does not support 4K displays. The WD19TB plugs directly into the Thunderbolt port on the left side of the laptop successfully.
2. I am running two 43" 4K Ultrasharp Dell monitors using the DPI ports on the docking station, successfully.
3. All my USB devices interface perfectly through the WD19TB dock.
4. The power off feature does work properly, albeit the Hibernate feature will need to be turned off in Windows Power settings, as the default setting allows the laptop power button to put the laptop in a pseudo hibernate in order for fast start to work. If you dont mind a slightly slower start of your laptop, then change that setting.
I commend Dell for this laptop and monitor dock combo. They work beautifully together. But put the brochure down and give it a try. I did am fully satisfied.
