A:AnswerThe battery indicated in the photo is an external battery. The battery required for the above HP laptop model 15-dy1043dx is an internal battery. I was told by Best Buy tech support chat on 2 different occasions that this was the battery for this laptop. Took my laptop to local Best Buy and they removed the back of the laptop and showed me the correct battery. It is an internal battery and the correct model battery is HT03XL. Even though the laptop was purchased at Best Buy, they do not sell the battery needed. Glad I saved the chat transcripts for proof that seeing is believing.
A:AnswerI spoke with a sales/ customer svc representative at Best Buy and I provided her the serial number on my battery. She was able to locate the correct battery replacement that was compatible with my hp device. I have not any issues after I received the replacement I hope this helps
