It supports eARC https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/av-receivers/avr-x1700h The reason this is helpful is if you have a receiver with ARC you can go from your TV to your receiver then to your speakers. This is better otherwise you have to have a firestick, cable box, etc going to your receiver then to your TV. With ARC you can use the built-in features of the TV and still get your 7.1 speakers pumping.
