Of course, you can bi-pass the Denon phono preamp and use an audiophile quality one (I use the Schitt Mani - about $125). But, the answer to your question is Yes, you can use it. The Denon has the advantage of being a good quality turntable (the cartridge could be upgraded) that is FULLY AUTOMATIC (making it very user-friendly vs. a manual turntable).
