Regardless of what phone reps are saying, this release definitely wasn't canceled across the board: my pre-order of it shipped and is scheduled to arrive on Friday. Either Capcom understocked Best Buy, or Best Buy oversold - right now it seems far more likely that it's a case of Capcom understocking as all the other big retailers are showing it out of stock as well. I'd recommend checking Thursday night around 10pm-12am to see if it becomes available for store pick up locally, as odds are good at least some stores will get a couple copies for release day. It may not be a bad idea to check other retailers in your area as well if you have your heart set on a physical copy - especially a certain less than beloved retailer who's local stores may still have in store reservations available and would likely know what kind of stock they'll have on release day. Worst case, PSN pre-orders come with a pretty nice exclusive theme as a consolation prize.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just spoke with a Best Buy customer service representative, and she said that the pre-orders for the deluxe edition of Devil May Cry V was canceled because the manufacturer (Capcom) couldn't keep their "promise" of having this version of the game in stores on release date.
