We just had a dishwasher delivered from BestBuy. Our delivery crew was very polite and professional but said they were not allowed (per BestBuy) to hardwire the appliance. They said it was possible to do, but BestBuy would not allow them to do it. Instead, they suggested they could install an outlet for an additional $160 and then install the dishwasher. I wasn’t comfortable making that decision on the spot, so I now have a boxed dishwasher sitting in my kitchen and am figuring out a plan B.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I work in the appliance department in a popular best buy and dishwasher install in our market is primarily hardwired not plug in. There is no additional charge we charge people for hardwire vs plug in with the install costs, and we have never have had problems with it not being installed due to being hardwired. Sounds like not all installers are as knowledgeable or may not be licensed the same as ours. Also, the bit about the bosch not being able to be hardwired is not true either. The boschs have a propriety connection that require the junction box to be hardwired and if added with the product its free. If not, it should be $20. Years ago it came with every model for free automatically, now they just provide the plug.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My dishwasher was not hardwired but looking at the the parts that were left over, I’m guessing everything is in the kit. Can’t be positive though. I don’t work for Best Buy so I can’t tell you if there would be extra charges. Installation is installation and the price should be the same. If you can wait, we purchased our Bosch when Bosch had a promotion to include FREE installation. That saved us $250.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Geek Squad installed my dishwasher. They were outstanding. I also purchased the instillation kit and there were NO additional charges, I had been told by an installer with Home Depot, that I would need to purchase some plumbing equipment, that was going to cost me another $150. Geek Squad never suggested that I needed anything additional.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it is like our dishwasher, a Bosch 500, it will not accommodate a hard wire installation. Only plug in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, I bought mine with installation kit and there was no extra charges, installers came in and did a complete swap of the dish washer. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We were having plumbing work done in the kitchen. Our old dishwasher was hard-wired, but our plumber said its best if it was plugged in; so he installed an outlet for the dishwasher to be plugged in. The installer used the kit to hook up the water hoses and converted the dishwasher from hard wired to plug in. We did not pay extra for this change it was part of the install.

Went in store to see the one we wanted. Store said it was on the floor. It wasn't. Ended up with one the salesperson said was IDENTICAL to it and on sale. IT WASN'T - keep reading to find out why. LG dishwasher for $599 Paid for haul away - 59.99 Extra warranty-179.99 Install Kit - 34.99 Delivery was free - so there was that. Delivery people came in and told us the old one was direct wired and my new one had to have a plug. My cost: $159.99 to them or leave it in the box. After they left- I read the manual. They installed the new plug DIRECTLY BEHIND the dishwasher where the old directwire was, which was AGAINST the LG install guideline, that clearly states "it should be in an accessible location to AND NOT BEHIND the dishwasher and within 4ft of the dishwasher side". Needly to say. My $599 wifi-smart dishwasher that I was told would work with my LG ThinQ app like my other devices, actually does not work with it. It only works with android devices (NFC), and it's wired wrong. I knew we should have gone elsewhere. Major fail from salesperson to delivery. Called the store - Manager in Brandon FL "Magically not available" - so I have to drive there to take it up with them. Advice - Ask every question about parts you have to pay for, electrical etc. and get it all in writing to back you up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No extra charges and hard wired will not be a problem. They will either hard wire the new one or install an outlet.
