FAA registration is required, but when it asks about remote ID, your response should be not remote ID enabled. This is because that system is not in operation. I called FAA about this
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All drones with a takeoff weight over 250 g must be registered with the FAA (If your drone weighs less than 250 g but you add propeller guards for your flight, that puts it over the limit and it has to be registered, for example). . If you are a Part 107 certified pilot, each of your drones must be registered separately. If you are a Recreational pilot, one registration covers all of your drones. The registration number must be displayed on your drone in plain sight. (Putting the registration number where it cannot be seen, such as in the battery compartment under the battery, does not meet the legal requirement). Remote ID will not be in effect for consumers until 2023. While the Air 2S has a Remote ID function which can be turned on in Settings, this is not necessarily the final version. The technology which will be used for the transmission and reception of Remote IF information has not yet been finalized, so the current setup on the Air 2S is subject to change.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you go on the official FAA website and register it with serial numbers as a recreational drone . It cost 5$ and they will issue you a ID card with registration number.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you have to register it. All the information you need comes with it or can be found with a quick internet search or links contained within the downloadable manual for the drone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it requires registration and when you go on the FAA website there is a drone operator site where you will register the information. You should find the remote id in tge app. Checkout YOUTUBE videos for assistance. I still have not open mine, because is a Father’s Day present, but I can tell you that I put my FAA registration on the DJI APP for my Mavic Air since I didn’t have a number for that one yet. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I didn’t and it works but it is recommended
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the drone needs to be registered. However even though the Remote ID rules are in place the FAA has not finalized the requirements so no drone is set up for Remote ID so you answer “no” when you register.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Dear customer, Thank you for your inquiry. You may need to register your drone, here are a few links that will help you with FAA registration. To register your drone click: https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/ According to the FAR Part 89 Remote ID regulations, the RID compliance for American users starts from September 16, 2023. Before that, the FAA RID regulation does not affect the user’s flight activity. DJI will conduct evaluation and prepare appropriate plans for different aircraft after the RID technical standards and MOC recognized by FAA are issued. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.According to FAA Regulations All drones must be registered, except those that weigh .55 pounds or less (less than 250 grams) and are flown exclusively under the Exception for Recreational Flyers. In this case, since the drone weighs more 595 grams, it must be registered.
