  • QuestionDoes this purchase require you to install an app and pay a fee for the service?

    • Answer This gimbal works with all cell phones that fit in the magnetic holder without the need for the DJI app. Just put in your phone and turn it on then use your camera app. The DJI app that adds extra features and automation like zoom and follow will work with most phones and lets you register the gimbal and buy the $16 3 year warranty but not required. I use it without the app unless I need it to follow a person or take special photos.

It may work however, we cannot guarantee the stability of the application on the said mobile device since it is not fully tested and not yet optimized with the application.   • QuestionWill this work with the go pro 8?

    • Answer I dont recommend using a GoPro for video with this gimbal unless you have hypersmooth on. GoPro cameras dont balance well and give bouncy video with the gimbal always having to correct its position. Plus you have to hold the gimbal backwards because the screen is mounted against the holder facing the camera towards you. There is a phone shaped GoPro case adapter on Ebay that is supposed to help balance and place the GoPro above the gimbal holder so you can hold it like normal but I havent bought one yet.

  • QuestionHow sturdy is the magnetic piece from the phone holder to the arm? I want to use this while snowboarding. Do you think it will hold up strong enough during abrupt movements etc?

    • Answer The magnetic piece that attaches to the gimbal it’s so strong that every time I try to remove the phone from the gimbal I feel like I’m going to break it. Thing is super strong, stronger than MagSafe or any of those magnetic car phone mount holders. I think it can handle movements easily but I’m not sure how it will handle the humidity of snow

    • Answer Dear customer, Thank you for the inquiry. DJI doesn't have an official mounting accessory to mount the DJI OM 4 SE to a bike. We apologize for the inconvenience. Moreover, the magnetic force of DJI OM 4 is 50 Newtons and is roughly equivalent to the weight of more than two 2L bottles of soda. We do not recommend using it in extreme activities for safety and optimal performance. But for your reference, the DJI OM 4 SE tripod mount is fitted with 1/4"-20 UNC threads.
