Not really. As long as you put the clamp on centered, then it should be fine.

If you leave your clamp on your phone all the time or use the magnetic sticker provided you don’t need to balance it at all just connect the magnets it’s easy but I end up taking the clamp off and have to do minor adjustments some times but not as much as I did on the mobile 3.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.One of the selling points of the new OM 4 is it no longer needs to be balanced, due to the stronger motors. If you’re using the included clamp, you just need to basically put it in the middle of the phone. There is also the option to use the permanent magnetic mount, also included, if you are will to commit to permanently mounting it to your phone. If you choose this option, you’ll never need to balance your phone again. They do not recommend mounting it to a case, but I saw a YouTube video where someone did and it seemed to work just fine.
