Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Definitive edition has additional individual back stories of each character and the addition of the world of Tickington, which is a throwback to previous DQ worlds in 2D where you do side quests to earn more items/costumes. It’s the same as the Switch definitive edition. Standard edition doesn’t have these, but still have the main storyline.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The definitive edition is the base game with all new additions. The additions to the game are awesome. If you're a DQ fan you'll like this. I thoroughly enjoy it and all of the other DQ fans do also.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.2D mode, Japanese voice over, orchestrated music (original was synthesized), ability to speed up battles (fast and ultra fast) which helps when grinding for levels, the fun sized forge (can craft weapons anywhere instead of at specific locations)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has a whole 2D mode you can play if that's your style. Basically just look Dragon Quest S for the switch all the difference are there. Since it came out before this PS4 version.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Definitive version adds extra content and many other things the standard edition didn't have. This is the same version as the Nintendo Switch version, which was a complete version with all the extra content. You should buy this version of the game so you can experience everything.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The mainline version i believe is missing some extra content and new ways of playing the game. the definitive editions contains an amazing orchestral score for many parts of the game from legendary composer Koichi Sugiyama. There is also a new 8bit mode to play the game in a retro style, plus a few more smaller QoL changes, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The definitive edition have new scenarios, 2d mode, orchestral in game music
