Yes, the transfer rate is limited to 480 Mbps. Though, the controller doesn't need to send any more data to the console than that, response time is still 1-2 Milliseconds whether it uses USB 3.0 or USB 2.0. Hope that helped.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As far as I know, no data is transmitted between the DS4 and the PS4 via USB. It will only charge so the DS4 can connect via BT. For external media, such as flash drives and external hdds, then yes, it will accommodate USB 3.0 transfer speeds.
