By rule of thumb, a DVD disc can hold music as data, but will not play in cd-drives.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the hours of music will depend on the recording format used, i.e. mp3, wav, others; I will discuss the untitledsong.wav characteristics. The untitledsong occupies 163 MB disk space & song length is 16 minutes and 10 seconds - note the quick correlation of 163 MB to the song length, 16.3 [a simple decimal move]. Remember that a recordable CD is max'ed out at 800 MB with 80 minutes of *.wav files that are converted to specific tracks & playable on your audio equipment; a recordable DVD is 4.7 GB - the capacity equivalent of 5.875 recordable CD or 470 minutes. Now don't get too excited, you won't be able to record 470 minutes of music on a DVD & play it back in your car thru its CD player, you will need your PC or laptop for playback thru Windows Media Player [or equivalent]. For the sake of novelty, I did create a music DVD using Roxio software and it needed to be played back using a DVD player; there is a file conversion that the software uses to make this happen. experimentation is fun, I'm one of those guys that used a VCR as a tape recorder. Back then [late 80's,early 90's] I could record 6 hours of music on a VCR tape & play it back on any VCR player, I never did try to play it thru the car cassette player.
