both ends are exactly the same and should be on your sound bar, if not you need to return and get a another one.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello! Each end of the cable is roughly square, notched on two sides (sort of like a roof) with slight protrusions on either side. These plug into an (often covered) port labeled SP/DIF. If your soundbar accepts optic cables, that is!
