“HDMI out to DVI in..? I want to hook up my xbox one to a Acer monitor that only has DVI and VGA inputs. Is it possible to do that with this cable if I'm hooking up the HDMI end to my xbox one console and the DVI end to my monitor. Will it work?”

• I think it works. I used this connect my laptop HDMI output to my old monitor DVI input. Therefore, I think your case will work, too.

• Technically it should work, however, sound will have to be routed another way--since DVI doesn't carry sound, only video.

• This should work just fine, as DVI to HDMI is the same standards needed for HDMI to DVI. You will not get audio from that style of connection.

• The Xbox HDMI passes both video and audio. It is entirely possible that you would be able to use the cable to display the video from your xbox on the Acer monitor but you would not have sound.
