“Compatibility with Seiki 39" Class 720p LED HDTV - SE39HC My new Seiki 39" HDTV SE39HC has v/good picture but lousy sound... as predicted by a number of reviews online. - The only sound output it comes with is an 'Optical Digital Audio Output'. The Dynex Soundbar System Black/Gray is described as having an Optical Digital Audio input. Can I assume full compatibility between the Dynex Soundbar and my Seiki HDTV, and use the Dynex Soundbar to significantly enhance the Seiki TV's sound ?? When using the Dynex Soundbar, will the TV's speakers by disabled automatically, or am I required to modify the Audio Settings of my Seiki set ??”

This bar is compatible with your TV. You will need to disable the TV's internal speaker from the TV menu under sound or audio preferences.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There should be no issues with compatibility. The soundbar uses standard connections and is designed to work with all TV's. The speakers might be muted. That is a setting controlled by the TV. The soundbar has no control over it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You need to supply the optical digital audio output cable. Should work w/your tv. You need to mute tv sound for optimal listening. This is an inexpensive fix, but sufficient sound. Comes w/a remote as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably the T.V. speakers, as well as T.V. audio settings, will be disabled, but the speaker system can be adjusted to suit most rooms and preferences with the remote or the speaker mounted controls.

The only way that I've found is using the RCA output jacks on the set top box and turning off the TV speakers thru the menu. Then set the set top box remote to control the volume.
