Nope. I bought the blow dryer first, and it's amazing! But now that I have the airwrap, I never use the blow dryer. The blow dryer attachment that comes with the airwrap works just as well as the blow dryer. The only thing that the airwrap doesn't have is the diffuser.

If you use a dryer cap, I would suggest also having a blow dryer since this device doesn't seem to have a way to attach a dryer cap. Outside of that issue this is a great all in one.

This is designed to be used with the Airwrap, to take your hair from wet to damp and ready to style and finish drying with the included tools. The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is a full-size dryer, which features multiple heat and speed settings. You can create a number of styles/finishes with each machine.
