Hi Kerri, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Big Ball canister vacuum has a different attachment; you'll notice the red latch on your wand, whereas the articulating hard floor tool has a gray latch to attach to the machine. An adaptor would be needed, to fit between the tool and your machine. I can not answer this question, but would love to know the answer. I too had the same experience. I purchased the V8 Animal stick cordless vacuum and I can not attach the ARTICULATING FLOOR TOOL accessory either. HELP!
