Hello Di, this is Kelly with Dyson. Both Ball Animal 2 and Ball Animal 3 offer very powerful suction power. Ball Animal 3 has an updated Motorbar cleaner head with built-in de-tangling vanes that prevent pet or human hair from getting wrapped around the machine's brush bar. There is also a suction slider on the front of the head that makes slight adjustments for varying floor types. if you have thicker carpeting in the home or pets, you may prefer the Ball Animal 3.
