“What is the difference between the Dyson DC41 and the DC41 Animal? I have read that the "animal" version may have more suction at the cleaning head, but this distinction is unclear.”

Hi this is Jessica with Dyson Customer Service. The DC41 is available in three variants, Multi floor, Animal and Animal Complete. These machines are identical in performance and design. The only difference aside from color are the additional tools included. The DC41 Multi Floor includes two on board tools - the combination tool for dusting and debris pick up and the stair tool. The DC41 Animal features the same on board tools but also includes the Tangle Free Turbine Tool. The Tangle Free Turbine Tool is ideal for removing pet hair from upholstery, carpeted stairs and the car. Finally, the DC41 Animal Complete includes on board tools, the Tangle Free Turbine Tool, and four additional tools - the Soft Dusting Brush, Multi Angle Brush, Stiff Bristle Brush and Zorb carpet maintenance powder. This claim prompted me to buy the DC41 in place of my DC17 I had for years. Any increase in suction is very diminished by the change that Dyson made to the 'floor hugging' beater bar. If you have any bare floors, prepare to use a broom as this unit has no floor attachment. It pushes anything larger than dust around the floor. I urge you to watch comparison videos on YouTube. I would have saved $600 and kept my Dyson DC17.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The animal one is designed if you have pets to pick up hair. I believe it has double the suction as well. Besides the Animal comes with all the attachments as well.
