How do I open canister to clean filter null

push the red lever on the back of the canister down towards the groung.

Remove the stick so that you are holding just the canister. There is a round reddish tab on the bottom of the canister. Hold the canister over a garbage pail. Use your thumb and push down on the tab. The entire clear canister slides down and the door opens to release the contents. Close the door and push up on the clear canister to put it back in place.
