Dyson just isn't listening to us! Like so many now days because of computers, my wife has carpal tunnel and cannot hold the trigger and vacuum. She hates our Dyson, because she can not use it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have carpal tunnel also and in general don’t have the grip I used to. I was really hoping Dyson had improved the trigger with an on off button. It’s time to replace my Dyson cordless and I have never liked the trigger. I thought surely Dyson had gotten many complaints about this and improved it. If the trigger is not comfortable to use..the purpose of it saving the battery is a moot point!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Commiserations, fellow Dyson cordless owner. They need to install a lock/release switch next to the trigger. It could be an optional feature for those needing it. Those not requiring it would opt for a unit without the locking switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is no true power button, there is a trigger you pull to start it, and when you release it, the vacuum will shut off. There is also a 3 way switch on top to control how much suction and power you will use.

This vacuum has a trigger that must be held to provide power. The Dyson range of cordless vacuum cleaners has a battery-enhancing trigger. Battery power is only on when the trigger is pushed – this means that the battery is only used for cleaning, and is not wasted when moving from room to room, or moving around obstacles.
