QuestionWhat's the difference between this and the DC44 Animal?Best Buy has both the DC44 Origin and the DC44 Animal whereas most retailers sell the DC44 Animal. What's the difference? Can I assume the Animal is a more powerful version?

- Answer Dyson's representative, Vince, is right but he did not give a more detailed answer. I just received three Dyson DC44 Origin purchased from Best Buy during the Thanksgiving promotion. The only accessory the Origin model did not include is the one for cleaning animals. I include a picture for an open-boxed DC44 Origin (those are gifts for others so I won't fully unpack the box) and another picture I took for DC44 Animal half a year ago (I highlight the animal-cleaning accessory the Origin model does not include). The Dyson DC44 Origin is still a great deal if there is any promotion from Best Buy in the future because I personally haven't used the animal kit in the past.

- Answer About 15 minutes, a couple minutes longer if you stop in between uses. My husband continues to hold the handle down which uses up the battery power even when he's walking from one room to another. Try not to do this, instead only hold the handle down when actually vacuuming! Hope this was helpful!

It says 65AW but what is in comparison to my Bosch bagged hoover with 2000w power? 65 seems pretty powerless compaired to 2000. Surely this can't be right?

- Answer AW stands for Air Watts, which is calculated differently from watts. Watts calculate the input electric current, and Air Watts is directly correlated to the actual movement of air generated by the suction power. A standup Hoover, for example, generated around ~100AW on a 1600W model. So I imagine your 2000W Bosch generated ~150AW or somewhere around there. 65AW isn't bad for a portable, and frankly I have no problems using it on carpet.

QuestionCan you turn off the brush for bare floors?Can you turn off the brush so it doesn't move, in other words, suction-only? I'm leery of using it on my hardwood floors because it may scratch the finish.
