• Hi there KoCo, this is Tia from Dyson! Emptying the dirt canister on the Dyson Outsize Total Clean has never been easier! You will just point the canister over your dust bin, and firmly push the red bin release button. The bin will slide down, cleaning the shroud as it goes and the bin base will open. • Remove any attachments from the vacuum body, and slide the paddle shaped release toward the front (or bottom) of the vac, while holding it over a trash receptacle. The base of the container will open. To close, slide the release back up and close the container. Its somewhat stiff at first. See image attached.
