Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link™ air purifier does come with an included filter, which has a life of roughly 4400 hours. If you were using your machine 12 hours every single day, the filter should last you about one year. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
