Hi Billy, this is Kelly with Dyson. The filter for your PH04 should last roughly 4400 hours. If the purifier is ran 12 hours every single day, the filter would last roughly one year. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

As some air is cleaner than some places, and room sizes vary, the best way to know when to change is when the fan tells you.
