Hello there, This is Dan with Dyson. In the US, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer has wattage of 1600. However, it is worth noting that the performance of a hair dryer is not all about the watts that it pulls; drying hair requires air flow and heat, and the power of the V9 motor and Air Multiplier™ technology provides a strong flow to help evaporation and air get into hair. While heat is also important in drying your hair, too much of it can be damaging – hence the need for thermal control. Best wishes, Dan

The specs say 1600 Watts. I do have a Dyson vacuum, but I won't be buying this hairdryer!!!!
