I don't know. I have had mine for over 3 years and have not had any issues.

Like any lithium-ion rechargeable battery, battery degradation for a Dyson cordless machine is absolutely normal. Like that in a cell phone or laptop, the rechargeable battery will degrade over time and the run time will be affected.
