“i received an RCA cable with a short red wire attached to both ends, i dont see this cable in the instructions, do i need to connect the red wires, if so to where”

• The red wire connected to the monitor when you go into reverse it’ll let the camera know to turn on. The other red one is the actual power cable that needs a black cable for ground

• the red wire coming out of the RCA is just a through cable, it does not need to be connected for the camera to work but can be used for convenience if you wanted to run reverse to/from the rear of the vehicle. An example would be catching reverse at the taillight, by connecting one side to the taillight, the side coming out behind the radio or display can be used for that device's reverse trigger input, if applicable.
