A:Answer You can actually wire this camera either way. If you connect this to year back up light then, yes, it will turn off then you shift to drive. However, if it is wired to you license plate light it will stay on at all times, as long as your drl or headlights are on. If you wire this to any other lights, you may need to add a resister to keep power at a steady rate or the picture will NOT be clear. Good Luck!
