“My mom is basically blind. I am looking for a thermostat which is essentially voice controllable after initial setup. Does this one fit the bill? She has good wifi coverage and only a "one room" apartment. She doesn't need alexa for other services.”

The ecobee 3 and 3 lite would not be the best choice. They do not offer voice control. But the Ecobee 4 would provide you with the ability to control by voice
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe this thermostat could work great. Alexa is building in under certain models (make sure she has the right one) and then depending on her phone she could get additional voice commands through HomeKit or other smart home operating systems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If she doesn’t have a voice assistant she won’t be able to control the ecobee with her voice. She would have to get an amazon echo, google home or an apple device to control with her voice.
