• If you lose wifi connection you can always control the unit manually as you would a traditional thermostat

• It still works as a standard thermostat. We installed ours 3 weeks before having internet in our home and they performed flawlessly. You just can’t control the thermostat remotely without internet.

• The ecobee will still operate as a thermostat to maintain it's set temperatures and use the wireless sensors, if there's any connected. They only difference, you won't be able to monitor or control it remotely until it reconnects.
