The ecobee3 lite does not have Amazon Alexa built-in but can work with your other echo devices. It also doesn't come with a built-in occupancy sensor so you may want to consider buying a SmartSensor 2-pack to go with it. Here's a handy comparison chart: https://support.ecobee.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028428931-What-are-the-differences-between-ecobee-SmartThermostat-with-voice-control-ecobee4-ecobee3-lite-and-ecobee3-
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Major differences are new powerful processor, a new more efficient remote sensor(wider angle of motion sensing, battery runs for 5 yrs). And built in Amazon Alexa. In your case I think you can skip this generation and wait for the next.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Other than built in Alex’s, Newest Ecobee thermostat has glass screen instead of plastic on Ecobee 3. It has New processor which works more efficiently and fast. And new remote sensor is more powerful than previous generations. It’s battery lasts up to 5 years.

Please try again later.hi for the most part yes. the alexa integration also allows you to control the thermostat directly with your voice. you can control the ecobee 3 lite from another alexa device if you enable the 'ecobee' and 'ecobee plus' skills on alexa. this new thermostat also includes a remote sensor in the box which allows the ecobee to monitor occupancy and temperature in a room away from the thermostat and the thermostat will make adjustments based on the reading from any sensor or sensors that are linked with the thermostat. the sensors are available separately for the ecobee 3 lite. hope this helps :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. For the Ecobee 3 Lite you would need to pair the thermostat with an existing Echo to use Alexa to voice control the thermostat. Whereas, with the new one you just use the built-in Alexa.
