I was also looking for this since there isn't much information available anywhere on the T8 (non AIVI). Also the + stands for "Plus Auto-Empty Station" I finally google searched "Deebot T8 release date" and this is what I found on Ecovacs website about the difference between the T8 and T8 AIVI: "The DEEBOT T8 is designed to appeal to users who don’t need the camera monitoring function of the DEEBOT T8 AIVI but demand the best cleaning experience". This statement was taken from this article on Ecovacs website here: https://www.ecovacs.com/us/about-ecovacs/newsroom/official-news/ECOVACS-Expands-T8-Series
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did a review of the two. I personally prefer the 3D over the AIVI. But, I'd say its a household, by household decision. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOSzyaNgHso
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This answer is taken from Ecovacs website FAQ, here is the link --> https://www.ecovacs.com/us/support/DEEBOT-OZMO-T8-AMR/faq-detail?id=186&product_id=40 What is the difference between DEEBOT OZMO T8 and DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI? Updated on 2020/08/04 DEEBOT OZMO T8 and DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI use the same hardware platform and offer the same cleaning time, noise level, cleaning efficiency and mopping performance. (1) As the high-end product, OZMO T8 AIVI uses AI to detect 2D and 3D objects, avoid obstacles and prevent itself from becoming stuck. It also features functions such as voice control, image capture, patrol and human shape detection. (2) As the practical product, OZMO T8 uses monocular structured light technology (TrueDetect 3D) to detect the 3D information of the room environment as well as the height, width and distance of the obstacle to make judgments in advance. During cleaning, it prevents the robot from getting stuck, becoming caught and colliding with obstacles in the room. Monocular structured light technology enables DEEBOT to move freely and clean efficiently. Hope it helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Primary difference is in the sensors in the front for navigation: A.) The T8 AIVI is a slightly older model and uses a regular camera to identify objects in front of it using AI (artificial intelligence) B.) The T8 is slightly newer model that uses special 3D sensor array to identify objects in front (a.k.a. TrueDetect 3D) with high precision I'm biased toward this model which has greater precision and works in low/zero light conditions, whereas the AIVI's front camera still require some light in order to sense objects in front (not good if at night or under the bed). Someone else linked to this comparison (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOSzyaNgHso) which demonstrates it's superior sensing capabilities as well even under optimal lighting conditions.
