You would need to purchase a separate modem as this product is only a router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It requires a modem to connect. We had a separate modem and router so we just removed the router from the equation. It basically replaces your router. Not sure how it works if you have a combo modem and router all in one.

I plugged the Eero hub unit to the modem with an Ethernet cable and set up the extension units and it works very well. Make sure to let Spectrum know you don’t need the router so they won’t continue to charge you for the service and maintenance of their router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did replace their router which does not have dual band. The modem can also be replaced and I did replace mine with an Arris modem. Both working better then their router and modem.

A modem is usually required for that but it depends on how Spectrum is getting internet into your house (some Fiber setups, for example, just have an ethernet port you can plug into on the house side).
