Hi, Reg! Thanks for reaching out ! To clean and freshen the washer, perform the clean washer cycle. For best results perform the cycle once a month. Furthermore, Every 50 cycles, your washer will remind you to perform the clean washer cycle by illuminating the clean washer cycle indicator. Please see page 40 of your user manual for more information on care and cleaning requirements. We hope this helps! ~Sam
