Both Streamlabs OBS & OBS are compatible softwares with this device. Elgato Studio is not required.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It works seamlessly with OBS; that said you do need to install the 4K Capture Utility for firmware updates. You do not need the 4KCU running while you're in OBS.

Please try again later.The 4k x is detectable as a capture device in OBS and Streamlabs but you can only have either OBS/Streamlabs open or the Elgato 4k utility app. You cannot run both at the same time since it will say device is in use by another app. You can get around this by using the Stream Link feature in the 4k utility app (I will link the help page below) which will allow you to use the 4k utility app and setup the capture in OBS/Streamlabs so you can use both at the same time. https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028241631-Elgato-4K-Capture-Utility-How-to-use-Stream-Link
