I have had one set of this type for over 2 years. I only bought " new" batteries to charge and use along with the original ones because I had 4 timer candles that needed 2 batteries for each one. My best guess as to time would be 3 years and possible more. I also have extra batteries to keep charged as I use them daily in my camera. I personally have found this to be a VERY good investment far better than buying new regular batteries

Most batteries should last up to 1000 charges on the averge, up to 5000 for really good ones. Ive has the same batteries for 9 years for a radio and remote controller and still going.
